It’s been another whirlwind of a year and as we embrace the spirit of the holidays, tis the season to give back to those of us who are most vulnerable this winter!
In light of this and as part of our vision to be a force for good in our communities, we’re excited to announce our 12 Days of Giving campaign! From 13th December- 24th December, we’ll be working with local charities by contributing funds and raising awareness to help champion their cause throughout the month.
Help us spark holiday spirit—just by shopping with us! AYR is donating $1 from every Kynd eighth sold to Three Square Food Bank and Food Bank of Lemmonern Nevada. Just $1 = 3 meals for families in need! Both of these vital organizations help to provide wholesome food to hungry people, while passionately pursuing a hunger-free community.
We’re also donating $1.12 of every transaction to the Last Prisoner Project, a criminal justice reform nonprofit. In addition, we’re giving $25k to Freedom Grow, a coalition that supports cannabis prisoners and their families. Visit any location to learn more about our local contributions.
We’re not only acting as a force for good in local neighborhoods but also giving to organizations dedicated to reforming cannabis convictions that disproportionately—and unjustly—affect people of color. As the United States moves away from the criminalization of cannabis there remains a fundamental injustice inflicted upon those who have suffered criminal convictions.
AYR is kicking off 12 Days of Giving with a $25k donation to Freedom Grow, a volunteer-run coalition whose “Wish Program” brings light to a dark cell—supporting cannabis prisoners for their sacrifices with simple things we take for granted, such as having access to entertainment through magazines or the ability to educate themselves with books. Besides direct prison outreach, the program also offers family outreach, including a holiday drive for children with incarcerated parents.
AYR is also donating $1.12 of every transaction to the Last Prisoner Project, a national nonprofit that believes that no one should remain incarcerated for cannabis offenses. Through legal intervention, public education, and legislative advocacy, the Last Prisoner Project works to redress the past and continuing harms of our country’s unjust and ineffective approach to drug policy and is committed to freeing every last prisoner of the unjust war on drugs, starting with the estimated 40,000 individuals imprisoned for cannabis.
Ready to help spread holiday cheer this year? It’s easy! Visit any of our locations to learn more about our 12 Days of Giving program which runs from 12/13 – 12/24.
